Sanding sponges are highly flexible allowing sanding of contours, flat surfaces, shapes or areas of limited access. Foam backing allows for more even distribution of pressure when sanding allowing a more even surface pattern.
Sponges can be used wet or dry and can be rinsed with water to remove clogging. The side held for sanding is made without grit making it more comfortable for the user.
